Gemstone Info: Aquamarine is the March Birthstone. Aquamarine means "sea water" in Latin. It is part of the Beryl species which includes emeralds and morganite. Lighter blue stones are often heated to make them a darker blue.

 

Healing Properties: It was believed that by turning darker or lighter it indicated what was true (dark) and false (light). It is believed to treat neck and throat problems and is thought to protect against colds and allergies.
